About

Covid had a instant effect on us all, myself my living of the past 10 years as a full time photographer of community and school sports came to an immediate halt. This however finally allowed time to sort through years of my personal photography in particular my Mekong River work and put together this website. New Zealand born in the small Central Otago town of Roxburgh, Lake Roxburgh and the Clutha River were my playgrounds maybe this is where my love of Rivers and waterways. Robin Morrison the wonderful New Zealand Documentary Photographer influenced me greatly as I started on my photography journey. Later is was the work of the National Geographic photographers Ian Lloyd and Steve McCurry in particular their work in South East and Central Asia. Moving to Melbourne in 1998 I did Swinburne Photography and Printing courses before enrolling at Photography Studies Collage in the 4 year part time advanced photography course. In 2009 fate bought me to Toowoomba where I meet Jodie Parsons and began working for then in 2012 took over JD Sporting Photography I am incredible fortunate as this allows most of November December and January for travel and personal photography.
