In December 2019 I flew from China via Thailand to Ho Chi Minh City. I then took a bus to Can Tho the largest city of the Mekong delta. The river I have been following from the mountains in Yunnan is about to enter the South China sea. This is my first visit to Vietnam and I just loved exploring this amazing city with its colourful streets and markets. I was staying in the fabulous 4-star West hotel at a cost of $40 Australian per night, this included a buffet breakfast. The hotel was close to the river and the entrance led onto the produce market which, no matter how early I left or late I returned the market was operating. I had intended to travel further in the delta but was so comfortable I spent nearly two weeks here. You can view Can Tho’s location here
