In 2017 I again returned to Myanmar, this time wanting to explore more of the Irrawaddy river. I flew to Bhamo which is the deepest freshwater port in Northern Myanmar. Goods travel via the Irrawaddy river back and forth to Mandalay. From Bhamo they are then transported throughout Northern Myanmar. You can view Bhamo’s location here
